At Prestige Car Audio and Marine, here in Metairie, LA, we work hard to stay on top of the latest technologies so we can provide our clients with the best products. We are thrilled to announce that Android Auto has just released a new compatible app called Waze. Many of you may even have this app on your phone already. If you don’t, you probably will after reading more about it here! When working with Android Auto, Waze in-dash helps provide distraction-free driving to its users. This technology will help you stay safe while driving and get you to your destination on time.
New to Waze?
Waze is “the world’s largest community-based traffic and navigation app.” In a sense, every user works together to inform other “Wazers” about what is taking place on the road. This app allows you to update the map to inform other drivers of traffic jams, collisions, road hazards and police speed traps. With its real-time updates, users are able to avoid delays and still get to their destinations on time. This great app will also take the current road conditions into consideration to create the fastest route for you, taking out all of the guesswork. Doesn’t it feel nice to know that other drivers are looking out for you?
Using Waze with Android Auto
To use Waze in-dash, you’ll need Android Auto. If you don’t already have this technology in your vehicle, Prestige has many radio options available to you that will provide Android Auto. (You will also need an Android phone running 5.0 Lollipop or higher.)
Google created Android Auto to give users access to many of their favorite apps while driving. You can stay connected on the road by sending or replying to messages, making phone calls, picking your music selections and even setting reminders. Android Auto lets you do all of this hands-free so your eyes stay on the road and your hands stay on the wheel.
Waze In-dash
Partnered with Android Auto, Waze in-dash gives you hands-free use of the app. You can use voice control to say, “OK, Google” and tell Waze exactly where to take you. You’ll still be connected and able to report traffic conditions via the Report button on your screen. The visual and audio alerts will help you stay on the correct route. If you decide to pre-program frequent destinations in your app, such as home and work, you’ll even be able to access them from a single tap on your screen. With one tap, you’ll get current road conditions and the fastest route to your destination, getting you there on time.
