Thibodeaux Repeat Client Adds 2015 Range Rover Upgrades

A repeat client from Thibodeaux, Louisiana, came to Prestige Car Audio & Marine looking for some 2015 Range Rover upgrades for his new vehicle. Our team spent significant time on looking over the vehicle with the client and exploring different options. We asked several questions to direct the conversation so we could get into the customer’s mind as best as possible. Once we had gathered all of our information, we worked up a proposal for the client, and he liked it, so we moved forward with the project.

This particular client had two major objectives for this build: First, give him incredible bass, use state-of-the-art products and make it look beautiful. Second: Do a full-featured, custom-installed laser and radar detector.

Top-Of-The-Line Amplifiers From Tru Technology

Our fabricators made a beautiful accent piece to frame the amplifiers.

One of the Tru amplifiers was flush mounted in the floor. It is protected not only with an acrylic window, but also a carpeted insert.

We pulled out all of the stops when it came to equipment. We special-ordered him four Tru Technology B2200 series billet amplifiers. This company hand-builds all of its amplifiers one at a time in its factory in California to the specs of the customer. We had the outside of the amplifier done in anodized black with white LEDs. We used a total of four of these amplifiers to power the subwoofers in the vehicle, with two amps running each subwoofer.

The enclosure crafted by our fabricators looked amazing in the back of this Range Rover.

An accent panel was created and an embossed Range Rover logo was added to it. It is attention to the details, such as this, that set us apart.

When it came time to choose a subwoofer, it was an easy decision. JL Audio 13W7AE-D1.5, 13.5” subwoofers are the absolute pinnacle in subwoofer technology. JL Audio uses these subwoofers in its $12,000 Gotham home audio-powered subwoofer, considered the reference standard. For this build, we used two of these beasts! Attention to detail was the key for this build. We hand painted and polished the black lacquer finish between the subwoofers and ordered factory-matching leather from Europe. We added LED accent lighting behind the subwoofers for a subtle, classy effect, and mounted all of the amplifiers inside molded panels that fit with the contours of the vehicle’s interior.

Mosconi Processor And Tru Technology Line Driver Handle The Integration With The Factory Audio

The Range Rover came factory-equipped with the Meridian audio system, and the client wanted to leave that intact. At Prestige Car Audio & Marine, we are experts at integrating with factory electronics; in this vehicle, we used a Mosconi 4to6 DSP and a Tru Technology Line 8iS line conditioner. These parts allow us to extract the best musical signal possible. Our expert technicians tuned the 4to6, removing any of the Meridian equalization present in the music and building their own equalization, delay and crossover settings to maximize sound quality.

Custom Escort Radar/Laser System For Safer Driving

A custom fabricated aluminum mounting bracket was fashioned to hold the front laser shifters. This bracket will outlive the life of the vehicle!

The display for the Escort system was installed behind the glass in the rear-view mirror. This provides maximum visibility and minimum cosmetic interference.

When it came time for the custom-installed laser and radar detector, we chose the Escort 9500ci system with the optional rear laser shifters. We made a custom aluminum mount to properly hold the front laser shifters in their optimum position at the front of the vehicle. We painted the mount to match the vehicle, giving it a factory appearance. We hid the radar receiver strategically behind the grille, securely mounted in a location that made it invisible, without affecting its performance.

In the rear of the vehicle, we custom-made a second laser shifter mount to hold them securely near the license plate for the ultimate in protection from laser shot at the rear of the vehicle.

In the vehicle, we installed the display for the 9500ci system inside the rearview mirror, making it look factory-equipped. We hid the controller from view but in an easily accessible spot for the driver.

The Llumar window tint not only protects the passengers and interior, it also enhances the cosmetics of this beautiful Range Rover

To finish off the vehicle, we installed Llumar CTX ceramic film on all of the windows, giving him maximum heat rejection coupled with great clarity and looks.
