A client from Metairie came to Prestige Car Audio & Marine, looking for an audio upgrade in his 2015 Infiniti QX80. He had a few simple requests: Make it sound a lot better, give me more output and hide everything. While the requests were simple, the execution was going to be challenging, since Infiniti used almost every inch of available space in this vehicle. After looking over the vehicle and listening to equipment with the client, we worked up a proposal that he liked, so we set a time to begin working on the Infiniti.
Audiofrog Speaker Upgrades
The client fell in love with the sound quality of Audiofrog’s GB series of speakers, so we used them exclusively in the vehicle. We installed the GB60 6.5” woofer in the factory location at the bottom of the door and GB25 2.5” midranges in the factory tweeter locations in the dash. When it came time to install the GB10 1” tweeters, we rebuilt the factory sail panels to flush them in while keeping the blind spot indicators intact. We applied sound-damping material to the doors and used FAST rings on the woofers to improve mid-bass response.
In the rear doors, we mounted another set of GB60 woofers into the original speaker locations and flushed another set of GB10 tweeters into the top of the door panel. The finished installation looked like Infiniti delivered the vehicle with those tweeters already installed.
Subwoofer Upgrade Remains Stock-Looking
Now it was time to turn our attention to bass. This is where it gets trickier, since space is at a premium in this vehicle. Our installers were able to build a custom fiberglass enclosure in the spot where the factory subwoofer was located. The finished product held a GB10D4 10” subwoofer and it fired through the stock subwoofer opening, again, keeping the factory look intact. We installed sound-damping material around the subwoofer area as well.
Mosconi Amplifier-DSP Combos
At this point, it was time to integrate with the stock stereo system and add power. We chose a pair of Mosconi D2 80.6 amplifiers for their combination of small size and integrated DSP processor. We installed a third amp, a Mosconi AS200.2, to power the subwoofer. We were able to hide all three amplifiers so the client lost zero cargo space in his SUV. This combination also allowed us to have dedicated amplifier channels for every speaker in the vehicle and letting us fine-tune the processor in the amps. Now, we have dedicated equalization, digital delay, crossover and output levels for each and every speaker.
Expert Tuning Yields Spectacular Results
Once our well-trained installers were finished tuning this system with their laptop, the sound was incredible. You could pick out the placement of all the musicians in the song, as well as hear all the nuances in the music.
Client Wowed By Infiniti QX80 Audio

Once we were done with the upgrades the interior looked completely stock, just like the client wanted.
When the client came to pick up his QX80, he thought we knocked it out of the park. Everything from the quality install to the clarity and output had him singing our praises.

Nice sharing for how to do the install a subwoofer, amplifier and enclosure on the car or vehicle right location to perfect setting. It is a very helpful post for those who want to fix a subwoofer on their rider location.
