A client from Metairie recently contacted Prestige Car Audio and Marine to discuss the installation of several 2012 Chevy Camaro upgrades for his show car. He had a long list of lighting, audio and styling upgrades he wanted to have installed. After going through the list, we came up with a plan to transform this cool convertible into an amazing show car that would be sure to bring home the trophies.
Chevy Camaro Upgrades for Added Style

We added lighting to almost every inch of this Camaro, to help set it apart at car shows.
We started the project by swapping in a set of Oracle headlights with RGB Halo rings and projector-style fog lights. Next, we installed RGB LED wheel rings and RGB rock lights in the fenders. We added several pieces of RGB LED lighting to the front grille, under the hood, under the car and in the interior. With so much lighting, it took awhile to route the control wiring so the installation looks clean, but our team of expert technicians was more than up to the task.
A single remote controls all of the RGB lighting. In most cases, the client has it set to a random pattern that flashes different colors and, of course, attracts attention to the vehicle.
Custom Styling Accents

The reverse-opening hood looks right at home with the Lambo style doors.
The client wanted a Chevy bowtie emblem for the rear of the car and a matching SS logo for under the hood that has built-in illumination. We couldn’t find anything from any of our suppliers, so our technicians created them from scratch. A reverse hood hinge kit and new wheels and tires are the icing on the cake for this show-car project.
Entertainment System Upgrade
The audio and video entertainment system in the Camaro is designed for use at car shows. We built a full custom trunk around a JL Audio 12-inch subwoofer and flush-mounted a Sony PlayStation on the right side of the floor. Because this is a convertible, the back of the trunk has limited space. We created a curved trim panel using the Stak-Fab method of layering multiple pieces of MDF together. Lastly, we molded a 19-inch LCD monitor into the trunk lid and connected it to the PlayStation. The trunk is finished in black and red vinyl. We added a few small LCD monitors to the doors that are viewable when they are lifted.
Custom Camaro Project
With the installation complete and everything tested, it was time to turn the car back over to the owner. He was thrilled with the Chevy Camaro upgrades we installed for him and was anxious show off the car.
