A client came to Prestige Car Audio and Marine looking for a dramatic 2015 GMC Denali audio upgrade. We sat with the client and discussed what he listened to and how he listened to it. We had a look at his vehicle and came up with a plan for an incredible system that would rival the detail and accuracy of even the finest home audio systems. Our plan would leave the factory radio in place, but upgrade all the amplification and speakers.
Low-End Boost From Audiofrog Subwoofer
We started with fabricating a fiberglass subwoofer enclosure that would serve as a home for an Audiofrog GB10 10-inch subwoofer. We relocated some factory wiring from the left side of the cargo-area side panel and created a frame out of MDF wood. We protected the vehicle with painter’s tape and paper, and then laid down many layers of fiberglass to seal the back of the enclosure against the vehicle. This method provides the most air volume for the subwoofer enclosure – which translates into the best low-frequency response from the sub itself. The factory trim panel is perforated, so letting the sound from the sub to get out was not an issue.
Three-Way Audio Perfection
We custom molded the Audiofrog tweeter into the sail panel and then wrapped the panel with black matching upholstery.
The front speakers for the system were also from Audiofrog. We created a three-way set using their GB10 tweeter, GB25 midrange and GB60 woofer. We designed a set of custom sail panel pods to serve as a home for the tweeters. We wrapped the pods in gray vinyl to match the interior of the vehicle. In the rear doors, we used another set of Audiofrog speakers. We installed a set of GB10 tweeters and GB60 woofers as a two-way set.
Trio Of Mosconi Amplifiers
Powering the system are three Mosconi D2 series amplifiers. The subwoofer is fed by a D2 500.1 500 watt monoblock amp. The front speakers have a dedicated amp – a D2 80.6 DSP. The rear speakers also have a dedicated amplifier – a D2 100.4 DSP. We mounted all of the amplifiers together on a carpeted amp rack. This keeps the signal and power wiring neat and tidy while maintaining a compact package.
The D2 DSP amplifiers are unique. They feature a built-in DSP signal processor that allows us to filter, equalize and delay the audio signals being sent to the amp and, subsequently, the speakers. While it does take some time to set up and tune the system properly, the rewards are well worth it. We can configure the group of speakers in each door so the sound appears to come from a single point in space. We can then adjust the delay of each door’s speaker group and the subwoofer so the sound from each of them arrives at the listener at the same time. The result is a system that has incredible impact and clarity.
Client Loves Upgraded Sound And Factory Look
All our work is hidden by the factory panels. There is now a huge improvement in the bass response while retaining the stock look of the interior.
Vehicle delivery to the client is one of the best parts of our job here at Prestige Car Audio and Marine. We get to see the look on clients’ faces when they see and hear their new systems for the first time. This client was beyond thrilled with the sound of his new system. Every component was hidden from view except for the front tweeters, and the cool chrome rings that Audiofrog provides blended perfectly with the factory interior.

I also have a 2015 Yukon Denali and was thinking about upgrade in the sound system I just read the article that you guys did on the 2015 Yukon Denali and how you upgraded the system and still kept the factory look my question is how much would something like that run me if I wanted the same thing?
